The diligence and attention paid to the coffee by their young barista was a joy to watch and even better to drink. We ordered some egg and bacon on turkish rolls and they too were generous, tasty, well prepared and presented. If you're visiting from Melbourne, leave the city attitude at home, take a breath, enjoy the scenery and your courtesy will be rewarded.

Another place situated across the road from the Mantra, near hiking paths and of course, the beach is Lorne Larder. Had the honour of meeting one of the owners, Cathy, who took management over, about 18months ago. The staff are hard-working and care about regulars and tourists alike.
This isn’t ‘just a cafe’, but offers much more: toasties, bagels, salads, granola cups, muesli, bacon and egg Turkish rolls, cakes, slices, homemade lasagne, to name a few. They even sell small plants and succulents in cute pots and fabric pot covers - wish they had them when I visited! [Another reason to return!!]
Whether you eat in, grab and go or try their grazing/catering boxes, great for picnics by the beach or sustenance for road trips, you won’t be disappointed by the selection or quality of food delivered. Drop-in and support this lovely cafe.

Long black - by Industry Bean Coffee - so good and intense, I had two!
Fruit bread with jam and butter - isn’t it funny how fruit bread tastes better when you are on holiday?!
